LM7805 is a 5V output positive voltage regulator IC. It is the IC of LM78xx positive voltage regulator series. It is manufactured in TO-220 and other packages. This IC is quite reliable due to which it is widely used in commercial equipment and educational project. Moreover it is also used by many electronics hobbyists and tinkerers in their projects due to its low cost, easy to use and low external components.
